Tax BIK Calculator

Use HMRC’s company car tax calculator to estimate the taxable benefit and income tax payable on a company car. You will need the vehicle’s P11D value, CO₂ emissions, fuel type and, for plug-in hybrids, its electric-only range for the tax year 2026/27.

Questions you may ask:

  • Where can I find my exact tax liability for a vehicle?
  • What information do I need to supply to get the information?
  • How accurate is the information?

How does it work?

HMRC supply this free self serve tool for you to determine your tax liability for this tax year or previous tax years.

HMRC confirms that the principal 2026/27 rates are:

  • Zero-emission cars: 4%
  • Cars emitting 1–50g/km: 4% to 16%, depending on electric range
  • Other cars: 17% to 37%, based on CO₂
  • Qualifying diesel cars may attract the 4% supplement, capped at 37%

You will however need to input the data in yourself to get the right result. Have a go!
